Battle Advantage and Change on Terms of Use.

The Battle Advantage plugin is done. This plugin enables new types of advantage and gives the user option to setup custom formulas to decide the chances of advantage. There are four new types of advantage:
Sneak Attack: The party gains a free turn and attacks enemies from behind.
– Back Attack: The enemies gains a free turn and attacks the party from behind.
– Pincer Attack: The party gains a free turn and surrounds the enemies.
– Surrounded Attack: The enemies gains a free turn and surrounds the party.
Attacking a battler from behind deals more damage.

Now let’s talk about the changes on the terms of use. First, for the users, nothing have changed, all plugins are still free for both commercial and non-commercial projects. The change is that I will no longer use ‘Creative Commons’. The reason is that, different from the commercial license, the non-commercial license includes a clause that I really disike:

No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

As some have noticed in my terms, there is indeed a restriction about sharing the plugin on a certain community (where I was banned because the admin was a jerk and banned several people when he was losing on an argument, myself included, so if I can’t enter the community, neither will all my works). So I’m leaving Creative Commons behind, since i don’t like the idea of leaving such huge loophole on the terms.

Plugins Updated
Materia System: Fixed issue with parameter bonus and added the possibility to assign materia slots to states.
Action Dodge and Hit Formula: compatibility with Battle Advatage.

  1. Thank you so much for your hard work, Victor. This is an awesome plugin that i’m sure to add this to my next project on MV. Will you consider to make an MV version of Animated Battle in order to take control of the characters more effectively? The default actions of the actors look so weird. I’m really into that script in Ace.
